It is truly the time for "Thanksgiving" and the acknowledgement of the gifts and opportunities we have in this great country. As we enter the Holiday season, one thinks of the many blessings that we all have. One of the best ways to show our appreciation for all of these gifts is to share with the less advantaged. For the Holiday Season, we at Sears are again offering the opportunity for our customers to provide food for Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners (IOCP).

This year we have partnered up with Cornerstone – a nonprofit agency that serves adults and children who have been impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence and/or human trafficking. Every year for the holidays, Cornerstone hosts Holiday Shop for the families they serve. Stocked with goodies, Holiday Shop gives kids from abusive homes the opportunity to shop for gifts for their parents and siblings. They get to experience the joy of giving by picking out and wrapping presents for their family. Please help us for through the month of November with the collection new and unused gifts, gift wrapping materials and gift cards for use by Cornerstone beneficiaries. As in previous years, we sent two teams to the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Golf Championship Western Sectional at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. This was site of the 2014 Men's and Women's U.S. Open Golf Championships. These teams consist of winners from our two charity golf tournaments – Zakkary Johnson Memorial Classic and the Open Arms Golf Classic earlier this year. The team of Aaron Roth and Scott Holt represented the Zakkary Johnson Memorial Classic winners and the team of Ryan Alexander and J.D. Johnston represented the Open Arms winners. The team from Open Arms won the event at the Mercedes-Benz Western Sectional and now will be going the Augusta, Georgia for the National Event during the Masters Golf Tournament in April.  Congratulations to them as only 6 teams total for the entire country will attend the National Event. Good luck golfers!
